Where the chemistry happens…
As a Seed Production Technician, you will be part of our Soybean Seed Foundation team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop a fulfilling career while providing support to BASF's US Soybean Supply Chain personnel, external clients, and vendors. This position will be located at the BASF Foundation site in Champaign, IL.
During your day shift as a Seed Production Technician, you will
• Collaborate with the Site Manager to effectively manage safety protocols, visitor management, and maintenance of grounds, equipment, as well as facilities at the site.
• Work as part of a team to coordinate vendor relationships, shipping requirements, and logistics needs. This includes tasks such as loading and unloading trucks and trailers, as well as utilizing field and warehouse equipment.
• Take the lead in seed conditioning activities, which involve applying seed treatments, bagging, and managing warehouse operations.
• Conduct field planting and harvest operations, ensuring optimal grower relations and providing support to internal customers.
• Assist in creating conditioning plans and process orders, while also making inventory adjustments and preparing conditioning reports for the Foundation.
If you...
• Possess a High School diploma or GED (required), with an Associate's degree as a plus.
• Have a minimum of 3 years of industry experience in an agriculture-related field.
• Have experience operating a tractor/planter or a willingness to learn, as well as familiarity with combine/harvest operations, equipment cleanout, packaging, and seed inventory storage.
• Are either familiar with operating a forklift or are willing and able to learn, particularly in the context of loading and unloading trucks.
• Possess or are able to obtain a pesticide applicator's license for field and seed applications.
• Have a strong attention to detail, as well as the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and excellent effective time management skills.
• Have proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office, SAP, and other tracking databases.

Pay Transparency
BASF is committed to pay transparency practices. The competitive pay range for this role is $20.07/hr - $28.00/hr. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
