Product Regulations Specialist – Charlotte, NC - 1903793

The Dispersions & Resins business of BASF develops, produces and markets a range of high-quality resins, additives, colorants and polymer dispersions worldwide. These raw materials are used in formulations for coatings and paints, printing and packaging products, adhesives, construction chemicals, nonwovens, and paper manufacturing.

As a member of the Dispersions & Resins North American Product Safety & Stewardship team, you will directly contribute to the success of our business by ensuring product compliance to International, Federal, State and local regulations. In this role, you will maintain product compositions, determine hazard classifications, validate substance registrations, manage compliance documents, and generate SDS and labels for your portfolio of commercial and development products. This dynamic position operates in a cross-functional environment with R&D, Product Management, Manufacturing, Sample Mgmt., Supply Chain, and Customer Service colleagues in North America as well as with global regulatory contacts in Europe, Asia Pacific and Central & South America.

Formula for Success

  • Your educational and professional background in Chemistry, Toxicology or other technical discipline combined with your attention to detail will be a valued asset in gathering, assessing and generating product safety information.

  • Leveraging your product regulatory expertise, you will consult with technical and commercial colleagues on new product developments and advise on the impact of changes to recipes, raw materials and regulations.

  • Demonstrating your knowledge of chemical regulations, Global Trade Control System, and Global Label Management, you will generate North American and UN GHS SDS and labels. Experience with SAP systems will be considered an asset.

  • Collaborating across the global BASF network and externally with raw material suppliers, you will ensure the integrity of raw material product regulatory information in BASF systems and determine worldwide registration status for your portfolio to enable global promotion.
