Southern Regional Sales Manager, Pest Control Solutions (Research Triangle Park, NC)
BASF Corporation is seeking a Southern Regional Sales Manager, Pest Control Solutions (Research Triangle Park, NC) to be responsible for implementing the P&SS business plan within the assigned Pest Control Region and ensure that Sales Representatives exceed objectives and sales goals. Develop and coach the sales team on required competencies and develop both professionally and personally within their job roles. Ensure that business relationships are developed with key pest management professionals, distribution customers (as assigned), and other centers of influence within the P&SS business. Manage the implementation of the Net Promoter Score and implement BASF SalesX/SalesForce mobile reporting tools to ensure that BASF is using the tools to improve customer relations. Lead the engagement with Marketing teams to develop pricing and programs for the season and bring market intel and customer insights from the Southern Region Pest Control sales team. Represent the sales force when communicating between the field and the P&SS Management Team and other functional groups. Will directly supervise 10 reports – 8 Sales Representatives, 1 Digital Sales Representative, and 1 Customer Care Representative (contractor). Local telecommuting permitted up to 3 days per week. At least 50% domestic travel required.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science, Soil Science, or a related field, and 2 years of experience in an on-site, customer-facing, sales position within Pest Control products and markets. Must have 2 years of experience with: interfacing across the entire Pest Control production chain, from field production to C-Suite Executives, including end users, retail/distribution partners, equipment manufacturers, additive suppliers, universities/colleges, and government agencies; proven coaching capabilities and technical training to internal and external cross-functional stakeholders across different Pest Control markets and geographies on the product portfolio, digital tools, and technical and sales materials; troubleshooting, mediating, and resolving product complaints on Pest Control products from internal and external stakeholders; addressing daily questions from Sales, Strategic Account Managers, Marketing, Regulatory, and external stakeholders regarding product labels, active ingredients, use rates, efficacy, compatibility, phytotoxicity, and persistence; speaking to large audiences in the Pest Control market; organizing, planning, and presenting at annual in-field demonstrations/field days with customers and partners (equipment manufacturers and additive suppliers) in the Pest Control Market; drafting and reviewing Sales, Strategic Account and Marketing strategies, tactics, programs, and technical support materials to position, differentiate and launch proprietary tools and Pest Control solutions into the market; developing, managing, and evaluating field trials annually with end users, retail/distribution partners, equipment manufacturers, and additive suppliers across multi-market Pest Control solutions and geographies; working with state agencies, Biology, and Regulatory in Pest Control product development and support in amending labels, use requirements, and evaluating efficacy; project management experience leading cross-functional teams across Sales, Technical Service; executing and training on tools; developing metrics to understand tools’ impacts to improve efficiencies, data management and customer relations; and recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training/coaching a diverse team and developing young talent in the Pest Control Market.
