Where the Chemistry Happens

This role leads a diverse and high performing group of Regulatory Managers and Technical Experts responsible for the development and implementation of regulatory strategies and activities to achieve and maintain US Federal Registrations for new and existing conventional chemical and biological products. This team leader position will lead staff that will primarily support our US P&SS and Seed Treatment business units, along with the Crop Protection business.

The Team Leader provides regulatory guidance to the US and Global Regulatory and Business teams on best practices to achieve US EPA registration of BASF products. The Team Leader maintains knowledge of current US and international regulatory trends and represents BASF on Industry/Expert committees to ensure balanced and practical regulatory requirements.

As Team Leader - Federal Registrations you create chemistry by…

  • Providing leadership to high performing regulatory professionals with a diverse array of active ingredient and product responsibilities.

  • Building and maintaining a diverse, high-performance team (e.g. through training and development of individuals, attracting/retaining talent, creating an inspiring staff, and creating an innovative working environment).

  • Ensuring complete, accurate and strategically sound submission through formal dossier reviews prior to submission to regulatory agencies.

  • Ensuring effective and efficient communications and interactions with the U.S. P&SS, Seed Treatment and Crop Protection business units, and BASF’s Global Regulatory and Functional Units.

  • Functioning as a BASF Regulatory Expert/Representative for US EPA and regulatory authorities, industry associations and commodity organizations.

Your formula for success…

  • BS/MS/PhD degree in Agricultural, Agchem or related scientific discipline and extensive, progressive experience in the Agricultural and/or Non-crop Chemical Industry.

  • Possess experience in R&D and/or Regulatory management with proven success leading a group of high performing individuals and/or teams.

  • Utilize your in-depth knowledge and experience of the US EPA Registration processes, FIFRA regulations; and regulatory issues impacting the US and Global pesticide industry and emerging regulatory trends.

  • Effective and influential communication and negotiation skills to all levels and audience, internally and externally to Regulatory Authorities and NGOs.
