We are seeking a professional like you who is passionate about Procurement and enjoys both strategic and tactical execution and negotiation. In this role, you will lead negotiations for various raw materials, ensuring a competitive advantage for BASF. You will routinely engage with the associated business units and suppliers in an effort to align supplier capabilities with BASF strategic priorities and explore creative and strategic supply solutions. You will support the implementation of global category strategies. In addition, you will provide regional input related to supply and demand market dynamics for the development of the global category strategy.

Formula for Success
Being a team-oriented professional who is capable of working in a multi-task environment with the ability to make and implement decisions with limited information, you will be integrated into the global Sourcing, Contract Manufacturing and Direct Procurement Team at Nutrition & Health (EN) who is globally responsible for procuring of EN's key raw material categories.
Leveraging your education in Chemistry, Engineering, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a related field and your work experience (preferably in Chemistry, Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, and/or Sales and Marketing), you will be responsible for all strategic procurement activities of EN in North America including the support of the development & implementation of global category strategies for Seed Oils & Distillates, Vitamins & Milk Proteins.
Utilizing the knowledge you have gained from exposure to strategy development, contracts and negotiations, and industrial manufacturing environments, you will lead and manage the sourcing process (e.g., RFI, RFQ, RFP) for key strategic contracts and highly complex negotiations to ensure the most competitive supply advantage for EN and other involved ODs.
Demonstrating your strong problem-solving skills, a high degree of entrepreneurial drive, and a proven track record of delivering results, you will provide relationship management for key suppliers, which will include monitoring performance metrics, resolving claims and/or disputes, market intelligence, and other contributing factors affecting supply availability and pricing of products procured.
Your demonstrated market knowledge and strong interpersonal communication skills will be essential as you conduct market intelligence research by interacting with key suppliers, industry associations, and internal stakeholders to collect industry relevant information and rationalizing to assess impact current and future to BASF.
