Marketing Manager- Florham Park (1803193)
Where the Chemistry Happens
We are seeking a professional like you to be responsible for the marketing related activities for the Acids and Polyalcohols Business (> $200M in sales) within the region. The role is accountable for developing and implementing North American specific strategies as part of a global SBU strategy. An important project for this position is to further develop the North American formic acid market to help fill our asset in Geismar. As part of this project, you will interface with 3rd party customers, as well as other internal BASF divisions (for example EN for Amasil ® ) to meet this objective. The role will also support the product managers and SBU in key projects that require market and data analysis. You will also team with global marketing colleagues to develop, shape and implement marketing strategies.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Support the development and execution of regional marketing strategies for North America in coordination with Regional Product Managers, Business Management and Global Strategic Marketing including regional market and communication plan.
Develop regional marketing communication plan and drive implementation of plan – including trade show participation, sponsorship involvement, and brochure creation.
Identify new market opportunities, analysis of customers' customer, competitors, and BASF's businesses including development of a formic acid channel to market strategy for the region, as well as to develop business cases for implementation.
Further develop the detailed regional marketing plan and grow the regional market in NA for key commodity products including formic acid and PCLO, through market development activities, PhaseGate, and other innovation projects.
Develop thorough understanding of regional market structure in North and South America (size, growth, key industry trends, value chain) for targeted products
Develop value propositions for targeted products and markets (such as runway and commercial deicing) within the region that may be regionally specific. Validate value propositions that are globally common.
Develop understanding of competitive environment and market shares in the regions, tracking of competitive imports and exports and regional market pricing trends, and provides input to product management, sales, regional and global strategic marketing.
Procure and manage potential market studies with outside vendors.
Understand & seek continuous learning about the target markets and the entire value chain, including future industry trends.
Coordinate directly with regional and global colleagues: business managers, communications, marketing, development, operations, regulatory, manufacturing and formulations.
Formula for Success
Leveraging your educational background in an Engineering, Chemistry, Business Management or closely related field, as well as your Market Management related experience or Technology/Technical Sales/Product Management related experience in a commercial/externally focused work environment
Your critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills related to financial, market and data analysis are critical in understanding the regional market structure's economics, growth trends, opportunities, value chain, customers and competitive environment.
Your strong skills relative to project coordination, time management, multi-tasking, and delivering on commitments is critical to this role.
Your excellent communication, reporting, and presentation skills, as well as interpersonal, negotiation, influencing and networking skills, will allow you to team with global and regional marketing colleagues to develop, shape and implement marketing strategies.
Your advanced education (Marketing, MBA , Engineering, Chemistry) is highly preferred.
Your knowledge of chemical intermediate products and related markets and/or marketing management experience is preferred.
