People Services, Senior Project Consultant

Where the Chemistry Happens

We are seeking a professional like you to join our People Services Consulting Team and provide differentiated HR solutions to BASF business and functional units, including manufacturing sites. Our team is responsible for the execution of consulting solutions across the following areas: Talent, Leadership, Organization Development, Engagement, Culture and Project and Change Management. The workload is determined by the strategic contracting process with BASF business, functional units, NA Leadership Team, MCSC, GB Engagement Services and COH.

Additionally, the role reports to the People Services Consulting Leader of the Talent Strategy Team and is a terrific opportunity to support the delivery of BU-specific, regional, or globally steered human capital projects in North America.

Travel for this position might be up to 40% of the time, largely regional trips that may include overnight travel. Work locations are flexible but must be located within a reasonable driving distance to a major airport, you may choose to work from a virtual home office, or to work from one of BASF’s GB work locations

Formula for Success

  • Leveraging your background in Business, Human Resources, or technical field with your experience in HR, Human Capital projects, Organization Development, Communications & Change or Consulting, you will plan, manage, and deliver BU, region, or globally steered consulting projects.

  • Applying your relevant business acumen, along with your HR and analytical thinking skills, you will respond to project requests by performing root cause and needs analyses, as well as develop approaches and methodologies for addressing needs.

  • Utilizing your demonstrated project or program management experience, you will develop and document project scope, resourcing, budget, and timeline, as well as create project management tools to ensure successful execution of the project such as project plan including milestones, metrics, KPIs, list of deliverables, status reporting, and budgets.

  • Your ability to manage and direct the work of others to complete project objectives, including team members, peers, service recipients, executive and external resources will be essential, as you lead the execution of projects and are responsible for project delivery via a mostly virtual environment from conception through to completion. Project execution will be a combination of hands-on delivery and directing the work of others across career levels to ensure that project outcomes are achieved.

  • Displaying your exceptional ability to develop and maintain productive working relationships and influence stakeholders at all career levels, you will collaborate across the organization with expert resources within GB and potentially external consultants, as well as interface directly with various stakeholders including managers, employees, and executives.

  • Your ability to successfully navigate through ambiguity, and execute in a highly self-directed, team-based environment will serve you well, as you identify ways to enhance service recipient knowledge skillset, as well as process awareness during the execution of the various projects to make sure the expected benefits are achieved and sustained after the project is completed

  • Combining your solid consulting mindset with your excellent group facilitation and communication skills, you will develop and enhance the portfolio of consulting solutions to ensure it remains relevant and aligned with the needs of our service recipients. This may require working collaboratively with GB colleagues and maintaining awareness of market best practices.

  • Relying upon your experience developing employee and executive communication tools and support for restructures, M&A, culture change efforts, you will lead consulting project which may one or more of the following topics:

  • M A/Divestiture/Site Closures

  • Reorganization/Restructure/Organization Redesign

  • Organization Development / Team Effectiveness Interventions

  • Project and/or Chang Management

  • Culture/Engagement

  • Organization Analytics.
