We are seeking a professional like you to join our team of Packaging Consultants (GPI/EC). In this role, you will act as Regional Packaging Consultant for North America and represent procurement of BASF in packaging related projects in North America. This is an excellent opportunity for you to demonstrate your ability to think strategically to mitigate risks, solve problems and increase value.
Formula for Success
Successfully engaging within and outside the organization, you will cooperate with diverse business units of BASF and packaging suppliers.
Your ability to innovate and implement ideas to improve the cost, schedule, and execution of projects will be essential as you identify and implement cost saving initiatives related to packaging materials, labor, efficiency, transportation and storage.
Leveraging your bachelor’s in engineering or another technical discipline and your understanding and application of technical packaging principles, specifications, theories and concepts, you will manage the development, qualification and optimization of packaging for new and existing according to equipment and safety regulations.
Applying your experience in Industrial, Food, Pharma, or Personal Care industries, you will provide technical ownership of your categories in North America and effectively manage your portfolio to optimize along cost, sustainability and other value drivers.
Demonstrating your ability to participate effectively in a team environment, you will work closely with procurement to optimize packaging supply base for cost, lead time, quality, standardization, and compliance with customer, regulatory, and internal requirements.
Utilizing your commercial know how and experience, you may co-develop category strategies, collaborate on contracting and negotiation and potentially lead and manage sourcing processes (e.g., RFI, RFQ, RFP) as appropriate in collaboration with the packaging category team.
Your strong organizational and computer skills will serve you well as you take care of respective data collection and documentation. You will also establish technical specifications and ensure effective maintenance of SAP data.
