Regional Planner (2201718) – Florham Park, NJ - Hybrid
Where the Chemistry Happens
We are seeking a professional like you to join our team and steer production and inventory management in North America to meet the forecasted customer demand. In this role you will also coordinate the supply coming from other operating divisions, business units and external tollers, always seeking for ways to optimize service levels, inventory levels and costs. On a monthly basis, you will organize and lead the site operations meetings where production for the next 18 months is planned and aligned within production, production planning and product management.
Formula for Success
Leveraging your bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field as well as your APICS certification, you will prepare, organize, run and continuously optimize the regional S&OP meetings as part of the global S&OP process and participate in the regional demand validation meetings and global S&OP meetings as well as identify, lead and steer Supply Chain Projects in collaboration with regional and global BEX organization & BASF Planning Communities.
Based on your experience in Production Planning, Supply Chain Planning, Demand Planning in a Chemical or related industrial environment you will define product segmentations together with Regional Product Management based on market requirements, service levels and financial specifications as well as define production strategies with Production. In addition, you will derive planning parameters and inventory level based on these segmentations and strategies as well as optimize system settings, master data and system use for optimal system adherence and planning performance.
Your experience using BASF software tools, including SAP APO and MS Office Applications will serve you well as you will consolidate and challenge regional, interregional and transfer demands (up to 18 months) into one forecast used for production planning. Establish an 18-month rough cut production plan, replenishment plan and tolling plan by using standard BASF planning systems, specifically SAP APO.
In accordance with your excellent analytical skills, outstanding organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple, concurrent tasks effectively as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills you will drive innovation in processes and systems, internally and to the customer, to structurally optimize SC and business performance with a middle to long term perspective.
Your ability to understand business priorities and make autonomous decisions in a dynamic work environment will serve you well as you will drive optimization of regional inventories (including management and continuous optimization of dysfunctional stock), service levels and SC costs in line with the defined product segmentations as part of the regional ownership of these inventories, service levels and SC costs.
Utilizing your excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work and lead in a cross functional, multicultural team environment to achieve organizational objectives across a regional and global organization you will collaborate with Global Planners, Fine planners, Materials Management, Regional and Global Product Management, and Production to plan, steer and monitor the portfolio and initiate countermeasures when deviations occur.
