We are looking for a Regulatory Toxicologist to join our Global Business Services - Safety Cluster in Florham Park, NJ.

Within our Global Business Service Safety Cluster, the position is a part of the Americas toxicology team providing businesses with toxicology and risk assessment support for primarily North American businesses. The North American toxicology team is directly aligned with the Global Toxicology Group.

As a Regulatory Toxicologist you will ensure the commercial success of BASF products in the North American marketplace by providing regulatory support for new and existing products, new applications such as those with consumer exposure, and determinations of appropriate hazard classification and labelling when expert judgement is needed.

As a Regulatory Toxicologist, you create chemistry by...

  • Providing toxicology support for existing chemicals re TSCA, including review of available data, participating in consortia, developing testing strategies if additional tox data is requested by EPA or needed to determine relevance to humans.

  • Being responsible for the toxicology support for new chemical substances to determine potential hazards of new substances using read across to similar substances, in silico models, and/or testing as needed. You will also review available toxicology data to minimize cost impact of bringing new products to market.

  • Interfacing with EPA to address concerns and work with the businesses to resolve issues / concerns.

  • Providing tox related expertise to resolve and determine complex GHS classifications based on toxicology data.

  • Strategizing with internal/external experts and/or recommending additional tox testing to ensure commercial success.

  • Managing toxicology requests from business units

If you...

  • Have an advanced degree in Toxicology, Biochemistry, Pharmacy or a comparable science. PhD would be a plus.

  • Have experience in Toxicology, managing and resolving difficult and complex toxicology issues.

  • Possess advanced analytical and strategic thinking skills, with a high level of customer orientation.

  • Are certified by the American Board of Toxicology it would be a plus.
