This position of a Manager, Supply Chain Process Optimization is part of the BASF’s Global Supply Chain Planning & Process Development group whose charter is to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of planning processes for BASF worldwide. The candidate will be in the Planning Business Solutions Services team working on the operational planning processes, such as demand planning, supply network planning, production planning/ production scheduling, and adjacent processes, e.g. manufacturing execution, supporting BASF’s 700 plants globally.

Formula for Success:

  • Influencing with your chemical and/or supply chain process experience, you will control and manage individual implementations of Supply Chain Planning processes in the context of global deployment activities, including activities in the fields of process integration, training, and change management. You will ensure the ongoing alignment with the requirements of Operating Divisions (OD’s), Business Units, (BU’s) and regions of BASF as well as with the Business Project Management and the Project Life Cycle Guidelines of the FS Division (Supply Chain and IT).

  • Leveraging your deep supply chain and operational planning knowledge and experience, you will develop cross-functional business processes / process modifications in cooperation with the BU’s and in line with the Supply Chain Strategy, business demands and process standards

  • Your strong experience in SAP APO (especially DP, SNP and PP/DS) and ERP (especially PP, PP/PI, MM) will produce a compilation of BU requirements regarding Supply Chain Planning processes and supporting SAP ERP and APO IT solutions

  • You will effectively communicate your structuring of business requirements with the Development department and support the validation and the testing of implemented changes regarding IT solutions

  • Identifying interfaces to adjacent business processes, their mutual dependencies and further development will align with the Business Process Management and the Project Life Cycle Guidelines of FS

  • Your close collaboration with individual ODs, BUs, regional Supply Chain platforms, and other organizational units regarding process design and process deployment will advance further development of identifying innovations, surfacing continuous improvement measures in the context of Supply Chain Planning processes and the refinement of deployment methodologies
