Senior Quality Management Specialist - Animal Nutrition (2000356) - Florham Park, NJ
Where the Chemistry Happens
In this role, you will own quality requirements for all Animal Nutrition aspects to ensure that customers' quality needs are met by supporting their quality requirements for our products and projects. You will provide and lead the regional (U.S. and Canada) Quality interface for the entire Animal Nutrition product line, while supplying Global Quality interface and support for regionally originating products. You will own the quality documents using global Lotus Notes and web-based databases. In addition, you will interact with customers, marketing, product management, sales, and production to address, answer, and support the customer-centric Animal Nutrition strategy. Lastly, you will serve as the Regional Animal Nutrition corporate quality representative on the Global Quality & Regulatory team.
Travel for the role is expected to be up to 20%.
Formula for Success
Leveraging your education and experience in Quality, Food Safety, Feed, Science, or Nutrition, you will serve as the Global Quality subject matter expert for FDA's Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA).Additionally, you will drive FSMA compliance globally with all Animal Nutrition (EN) production sites, suppliers, contract manufacturers, transportation vendors, and storage facilities.
Working well in a team, you will participate in EN Projects and initiatives to drive sustainable solutions, function as the RCMS Manager for Nutrition & Health Business Unit, and support domestic manufacturing sites with third-party certifications (e.g. FAMI-QS).
Utilizing your relationship management skills, you will participate in various trade associations pertaining to quality for Food/Feed (e.g. AFIA, ANAC, AAFCO).
Your strong organizational skills will aid you as you effectively manage the continuous improvement of customer-related documents utilizing One-Pi, World Account, and other BASF systems to reduce the repeat requests of similar information. These skills will also be beneficial as you own and manage the customer questionnaire process and drive to reduce the response time and number of repeat questionnaires.
Relying on any experience you may have in Quality within the Animal Nutrition industry, you will manage the approval process for Customer Quality Agreements, Supplier Expectation Manuals, customer specifications, and label contents.
Your strong communication skills will serve you well as you address all quality product-related questions from internal (Sales, Customer Service, Product Management) and external customers.
Working with a sharp customer focus, you will drive to reduce the number of BASF’s non-conformance management (NCM) or customer complaints and provide written response for each product quality NCM.You will also support NAFTA and other free trade certificates as requested by customers.
Demonstrating your ability to cultivate extensive in-depth understanding of scientific products, you will support all product registrations and product approval support for domestic production and approve or create Product Statements (e.g., non-animal origin, non-GMO, ingredients).
Your strong leadership skills and keen attention to detail will be essential as you manage and represent the Animal Nutrition business at audits of BASF production and contract manufacturing sites.Additionally, you will perform supplier audits and other supplier verification activities.
Utilizing your strong computer skills, you will prepare Foreign Supplier Verification Programs (FSVPs) for imported materials and create & manage quality agreements with contract manufacturers.
