As a member of the Instrument/Electrical & Controls Maintenance (IEC) team in Freeport, you will be responsible for providing engineering support to address plant issues that are impacting production related to instrumentation and low voltage electrical equipment. You will provide technical expertise that may be equipment-based or repair technique-based, which impacts the availability and maintainability of equipment within the facility.

As a I/E Maintenance Engineer, you create chemistry by...

  • Working towards becoming a subject matter expert in equipment failures and repair techniques during root cause investigations.

  • Developing maintenance operating discipline.

  • Providing technical expertise to plant personnel on troubleshooting failures, repairs, and evaluating whether equipment is designed to meet its intended or existing service conditions.

  • Ensuring that work requests include engineering input on repair details and providing onsite/offsite technical support for deviations from this data for critical process equipment.

  • Documenting repairs, repair techniques, and equipment-specific training to ensure knowledge transfer and accessibility.

  • Supporting the preventive maintenance coordinator in reviewing spare parts lists for existing equipment.

  • Entering quality, service, and product performance information into the reporting system.

  • Providing engineering input for work packages to ensure standards are followed, particularly for critical equipment requiring engineering review or input during turnaround work.

  • Completing EH&S orientation and all required training, exhibiting safe work behaviors, and working safely without injury or harm to the environment.

  • Using maintenance spending, reliability, and maintenance metrics for the assigned area and analyzing the impact of equipment failures to identify improvement opportunities.

If you...

  • Hold a BS in Electrical Engineering

  • Have 1+ years of experience working in a Chemical/Petrochemical/Refining Site (Preferred)
