Turnaround Engineer (1804364) – Freeport,TX
Where the Chemistry Happens
We are seeking a professional like you to assist the Turnaround Manager in driving/leading the successful execution of all assigned phases of the Turnaround (TAR) management process for specific facility/area turnarounds. The position is intended to apply global procedures, best practices, and tools to the TAR process and ensure the milestone plan for the turnaround is achieved. In doing so, future turnarounds will be more effectively executed, reducing cost and schedule duration.
Leveraging your educational background inMechanical Engineering and your professionalexperience in chemical, petrochemical or a similar manufacturing operation, youwill assist the TAR Manager and Cost organization in the development of anaccurate TAR budget, schedule, and organization which is in line with theBusiness Unit’s objectives. This will help ensure the TAR scope is in line withbusiness objectives.
Driving strategic decisions for the business,you will work with the TARM team and Technical Procurement to develop andimplement an appropriate TAR contracting and material procurement strategy.This will ensure compliance with corporate procurement policies and provide thebest overall service value and material total cost of ownership.
Your professional hands-on experience in MaintenanceEngineering in support of turnaround operations is essential as you ensure thedevelopment/clarification of TAR work scope and TAR Objectives in order tochallenge and optimize the scope to be executed inside the TAR window.Optimizing scope should both reduce TAR spending and ensure facility poststart-up operating objectives are achieved.
Your strong organizational skills will becritical as you will ensure planning and organizational deliverables supportthe development and execution of effective TAR logistics processes. EffectiveTAR logistics are essential to achieve TAR budget and schedule targets.
Demonstrating your leadership ability, you willbe tasked with supervising day-to-day work during the TAR execution phase. You will also serve as Deputy TAR Manager onoccasion.
Your robust skills in planning, execution, andfollow through will be challenged as you assist in establishing, tracking, andreporting on TAR performance KPI’s to help assess the effectiveness of theplanning effort and identify areas for improvement, provide daily reporting toTAR Manager during execution phase, and assist in capturing TAR “LessonsLearned” and fully assesses the TAR after completion to continuously improvefuture TAR performance.
