Mechanical Maintenance Engineer (2103224) – Freeport, TX
We are seeking a professional like you to join our team and be responsible for providing mechanical engineering expertise to an assigned area of the site.
In this role, you will also be responsible for collaborating with Production and Maintenance personnel and providing services related to design review, repair, and maintenance, including predictive/preventative maintenance activities. Additionally, you will provide technical support to Root Cause Failure Analyses, troubleshooting of problems, and monitoring PM and PdM programs, as well as ensuring a culture of continuous improvement employing LEAN Manufacturing tools.
Formula for Success:
Leveraging your education in Mechanical Engineering or related field and your experience in petrochemical maintenance, reliability, and projects, you will provide technical support to the Maintenance Supervisor, specialists, and craftsmen on difficult equipment repair issues.
Relying upon your knowledge and experience with various types of mechanical equipment, you will provide troubleshooting support and recommendations to operating units on equipment reliability including emergency work reviews.
Combining your exceptional ability to communicate effectively with facts and figures along with your ability to influence, persuade and negotiate, you will provide input for the Maintenance Budget, as well as evaluate new technologies and alternatives for equipment repair, seeking cost and delivery advantages.
Displaying your strong interpersonal skills, you will assist in the training and development of in-house maintenance resources.
Demonstrating your robust knowledge API and ASME codes, vibration analysis and equipment lubrication programs, you will support capital projects by supplying engineering expertise in the specification, design, and construction of projects in accordance with plant design requirements, BASF standards and regulatory requirements.
Your ability to develop a solid understanding of maintenance work processes will be essential, as you support the reliability processes to drive improvements, optimize costs and improve asset effectiveness (Bad Actor Management, FMEA, RBI, RBM, RCM, Reliability Roadmap, etc.). You will also establish, monitor and optimize Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) plans.
Utilizing your knowledge of maintenance activities associated with process equipment such as centrifugal pumps, piping systems, pressure vessels (including heat exchangers), atmospheric storage tanks, positive displacement pumps, relief devices and compressors of various design, you will participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis and execute corrective actions for complex and repetitive problems, as well as participate in the “Bad Actor” program and create action plans for improving reliability.
