Process Engineer (1802285) – Freeport, TX
Where the Chemistry Happens
We are seeking a professional like you who will perform process engineering support for capital projects in all phases of design development for BASF at the Freeport, TX facility, 60 miles south of Houston, TX. You will conduct safety reviews, technology reviews, siting studies, infrastructure, and environmental assessments. You will support project development through the conceptual planning phase and detailed design. You will be responsible for updating and validating pressure safety valve calculations and providing process support to operating units for troubleshooting.

Formula for Success
With your educational background in Chemical Engineering and experience in process engineering in a chemical/petrochemical or similar manufacturing environment, you will be responsible for the development of basic and detailed design of additions or modifications to existing facilities, as well as the potential for new plants.
Utilizing your thorough understanding of process equipment design including, but not limited to, pumps, heat exchangers, and vessels, you will provide process engineering support for capital project scope development.This includes development of PFD’s, P&ID’s, equipment and instrumentation specification sheets, equipment sizing, instrument data, and line list data in a thorough, accurate, and timely manner.You have demonstrated working knowledge of CAPE applications (e.g., ASPEN Plus, HTFS, Sinet, Pipeflow).
Leveraging your ability to apply process tools to design piping systems, calculate pressure relief valve sizes, complete material and energy balances, and perform process optimization studies, you will prepare data for and participate in project technical reviews.You will participate in safety step reviews and appropriate value improving practices and maintain environmental permitting by providing calculations and reviewing permit applications for Capital Projects.
With your strong leadership, influencing, and team working skills , you will also interface with operations to provide technical support and recommendations on methods and improvements to eliminate challenges and issues.
This position requires all candidates to either currently possess or obtain and maintain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) Card from the U. S. Department of Homeland Security.
