Travel to the Pasadena, TX facility, 60 miles North of Freeport, TX will also be required to support some activities at that site. In this role, you will manage all phases of capital and expense projects and serve as the primary technical point of contact between the project and business unit partners. You will successfully complete assigned projects on schedule, within budget, while following BASF Corporation Engineering standards and procedures.

Leading project teams in development of project scopes, generating cost estimates, and preparing funding requests as well as demonstrating your commitment to compliance and safety as you seek compliance with all environmental, safety, and health requirements, and promote a safe working environment for project execution.
Engaging team members across the organization, you will develop and maintain partnerships with assigned project manufacturing representatives to execute projects from initial scoping and funding, through detailed engineering and procurement, construction, startup and commissioning, and then final documentation and closure.
Requesting and coordinating required process and discipline engineering and design resources, whether from the site, corporate groups or outside engineering vendors, to prepare engineering design deliverables and procure equipment, fabricated materials, and services and utilizing strong computer skills and attention to detail as you maintain SAP project data entries, monitor project progress through scheduling and other tools, perform project status reporting, and control spending through appropriate tracking, forecasting, and adjustments.
Working with Procurement and complying with applicable guidelines, you will perform procurement activities as required, including preparing specifications, issuing requisitions, evaluating bids, and dealing with vendors.
Communicating effectively, you will request necessary construction and commissioning resources from Construction and others as required to install the scope of work as well as ensuring project are closed per guidelines, and ensuring proper documentation of files, records, databases, and drawings to meet regulatory and BASF requirements.
Relying on any project engineering or project management experience you may have, you will monitor and support construction activities to ensure that projects are completed according to the design deliverables, quality standards, and plant requirements, and that pre-startup safety reviews are conducted. You will also follow up to ensure that Operations achieves a successful project startup, and that any project-related action items are completed.
If you have...
Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering discipline, preferably in mechanical or chemical engineering.
Five (5) or more years of engineering experience in a chemical, petrochemical or similar manufacturing environment combined with at least two (2) years of project management experience. A proven track record of executing multiple small to medium size capital projects simultaneously.
Strong interpersonal, problem solving, leadership, organizational and communication skills are required.
Team-oriented skills and capability of working in a multi-task environment.
Knowledge of project management processes and project execution best practices.
Familiarity with SAP systems (preferred).
