We are looking for a QA Analyst to join our NAF team in Freeport, TX.

As a QA Analyst for our Petrochemicals business unit you will be integral in ensuring our customers receive only high quality superabsorbent polymer (SAP) from our Freeport TX production facility. The SAP QA lab services the operations team to help manufacture several grades of SAP. The QA lab operates continuously with 12-hour shifts that begin at 5 am and 5 pm every day. The quality lab has a total of four shifts with one team lead and two lab analysts per shift. The QA lab is a high-volume, fast-paced environment providing rapid analyses and quality recommendations to ensure that all products meet our customer requirements.
As a QA Analyst, you create chemistry by...
• Participating in all required site safety activities.
• Following site and business procedures as well as BASF Corporate policies.
• Analyzing controls, in-process, and finished product samples as required, recording data in appropriate databases.
• Conducting raw material testing in support of manufacturing operations.
• Reviewing SAP QM data for correctness to ensure product quality and conformance to customer specifications.
• Monitoring data for deviations and trends, reporting excursions to appropriate personnel.
• Identifying opportunities for improvements to lab work practices and communicate them to supervision.
• Providing trial support and perform special projects as required.
• Helping to maintain ISO 9001 and customer specific certifications and procedures.
• Working with co-workers as a team to facilitate optimal operations of the laboratory.
If you...
• Have a HS Diploma or equivalent
• Are willing and able to work 12hr rotating shifts (Day/night/weekend/holidays)
• Have knowledge of standard laboratory analytical techniques and instrumentation is preferred
• Have experience in QA and in working with other departments, i.e., production, logistics is preferred
• Have good attendance, performance, and safety record
• Are a good team player with communication skills and attention to details
• Are able to work unsupervised in an efficient manner
• Have basic computer skills, i.e., Excel, Word, etc.
