In this role, you will manage all phases of capital and expense projects and serve as the primary technical point of contact between the project and business unit partners. You will successfully complete assigned projects safely, on schedule and within budget, while following BASF Corporation Engineering standards and procedures.
As a Sr. Project Engineer, you create chemistry by...
• Achieving project objectives which include functionality, cost, and schedule for project investments up to approximately $25 million.
• Providing leadership to the project team including engineering, production, infrastructure, logistics, procurement, and construction as well as mentor less experienced engineers.
• Championing the scope development process to ensure completeness of basic engineering and seek opportunities for added value through application of Value Based Engineering.
• Overseeing the Change Management process and maintain focus on safety in the development of project concepts and during execution.
• Developing execution and contracting strategies to effectively meet objectives.
• Demonstrating a commitment to maintaining a safe and productive workplace as you ensure compliance with all BASF policies, procedures, and technical standards.
If you...
Have a Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering discipline, preferably in electrical engineering with 7 or more years of engineering experience in a chemical, petrochemical or similar manufacturing environment combined with at least 5 years of project management experience.
Have a strong background in Power, Instrumentation, and Distributed Control Systems or PLC systems.
Have a proven successful track record of executing multiple small- to medium-size capital projects simultaneously.
Possess outstanding interpersonal, problem solving, leadership, organizational and communication skills. Be team-oriented and capable of working in a multi-task environment.
Have in-depth knowledge of project management processes and project execution best practices as well as familiarity with business controlling systems (e.g. SAP) is preferred.
The position is Freeport, TX based and works a hybrid work schedule (onsite minimum 3 days/week).
