Come join us on our journey to create solutions for a sustainable future!Asset Effectiveness Engineer-Geismar (1802850) Where the Chemistry Happens We are seeking a professional like you to lead Asset Effectiveness improvements in order to maximize profitability as part of Strategic Production. You will develop, analyze and maintain plant relevant Asset Effectiveness Key Performance Indicators, identifying and managing planned and unplanned downtime strategies and driving reliability improvements. You will also facilitate the development of Asset Management Plans, including capital and maintenance strategies, optimization of Asset Effectiveness, and ensuring optimal life cycle costs to achieve the business objectives. You will also:

  • Define and manage down time strategy (planned & unplanned) with integration of Asset Effectiveness data, business priorities, and asset compliance plan.

  • Provide input to preparing the maintenance budget and controls spending through appropriate tracking, forecasting, and adjustments.

  • Monitor key asset performance indicators, and supports and implements continuous improvements in order to enhance plant availability and reduce the plant costs.

  • Owner of Asset Management Plan for responsible areas

  • Lead timeline for yearly revalidation of Asset Management plan in conjunction with operational planning.

  • Support business case development and charter screening.

  • Develop the Capital Strategy and Plan for assigned area including strategies for equipment life cycle analysis, strategies for asset replacement and support for strategic prioritization of capital projects within the business group.

  • Drive 3 year Equipment Criticality assessment with cross functional teams (I&E, Mechanical, PAG, etc.) providing input and data.

  • Ensure equipment strategy progress per identified priority. Develop equipment strategy overviews, incorporating total cost of ownership, that will feed into yearly Operational Planning for capital and maintenance.

  • Ensure compliance of the assets with internal and external rules and regulations (e.g. SIS, mechanical integrity inspections, etc.) via adherence to scheduling requirements or seeking approval for extensions

  • Provide tier 3 troubleshooting to production units as required during key events (turnarounds, production problems, audits, etc).

  • Lead yearly revalidation of Production data and link back to Unit:Unit analysis with Technology teams to identify optimization opportunities

  • Develop CI management and Site Leadership Team updates for the Asset Management plan yearly

  • Responsible for Charter take-in to validate Total Cost of Ownership analysis.

  • Primary liaison to Stores, Logistics, Analytical Services, Security for charter and business case development, prioritization of activities.

    • Facilitate implementation of the Capital Plan, in coordination with Area Project Management based upon Business Strategies.

  • Leveraging your educational background in an Engineering discipline, as well as your extensive professional experience within a chemical/petrochemical and/or manufacturing environment, you will identify improvement opportunities and propose and implement sustainable solutions for rotating and fixed mechanical equipment.

  • Your ability to develop and implement work processes to improve plant asset effectiveness and maintenance cost will allow you to Develop, analyze and maintain plant relevant Asset Effectiveness Key Performance Indicators and develop plans to maximize profitability.

  • Your strategic thinking to develop long term asset strategies and translate them to a yearly roadmap will ensure that you can maintain and improve plant reliability through identifying/correcting operational reliability opportunities.

  • Your understanding of best industry practices regarding maintenance and reliability activities and work process will allow you to lead Asset Effectiveness improvements through identification of lost availability and poor reliability.

  • With accountability with cross functional teams, your general knowledge of rotating and stationary equipment repair, project execution, and construction installation techniques will allow you to identify, analyze, drive root cause failure analysis, develop action plans, and drive action item completion on both operational and equipment Bad Actors.

  • Your strong communications skills will be a valued asset as you provide facts and figures to collaborate and negotiate with Engineers, Maintenance and Operations Personnel to provide design review, repair and maintenance support, including optimization of predictive/preventative maintenance activities.
