The Chemical Intermediates (CI) business focuses on the production of different chemicals in a cost-effective, reliable, and safemanner. We are the largest business at the Geismar site and divided into 3 manufacturing clusters of plants
We are seeking a professional like you to join our team as the IEC (Instrument, Electrical, and Control) Manager for CI in Geismar, LA. You and your team are responsible for the management of the instrument, electrical, and control systems maintenance and reliability engineering servicesfor CI area Manufacturing Clusters at the Geismar Site. You will provide technical leadership to the instrument, electrical, and control systems discipline experts to ensure quality, innovation, coaching, mentoring, and career development. Additionally, you will ensure the overall effectiveness and efficiency of these engineering and technical services.
In this role, you have a team of more than 25 BASF direct and indirect reports. Also, you have 10-15 additional nested contract employees reporting into your team.
As a I/E/C Manager, You Create Chemistry By...
Leveraging your Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and your advanced technical experience in maintenance, manufacturing, engineering, or similar field, you will be responsible for providing instrument, electrical, and control systems resources to the area Manufacturing Cluster asrequested.
Displaying your leadership skills in a chemical, petrochemical or similar manufacturing environment, you will forecast and manage staffing requirements to meet future workloads, as well as review of all engineering support request, management of a job backlog, as well as track the group’s KPI’s, while maintaining awareness of overall consistency, effectiveness, and efficiency of engineering services deliverables.
Your excellent human relations skills and leadership experience will be essential, as you provide technical leadership, mentoring, and overall management of an area Manufacturing Cluster I,E&C systems discipline team,while understanding the needs of Manufacturing, taking personal ownership of theteam responsibilities and deliverables, empowering the team to meet their commitments, as well as driving continuousimprovement.
Demonstrating your working knowledge of maintenance work processes such as planning, scheduling, and material management, your team will be responsible for coordinating and monitoring the progress and quality of project I&E design work executed within the CI Clusters
Applying your robust knowledge of instrumentation, electrical equipment, and control systems, you will be responsible for ensuring that services provided adhere to industry codes and BASF Corporate technical standards, as well as provide guidance to the Area Project and Maintenance Teams on the application of relevant I/e & C codes and technicalstandards.
Relying upon your knowledge and continuous review of relevant industry codes and best practices, you will review, challenge, as well as validate new and existing Site I/E & C technical standards or procedures.
Your familiarity with Emerson, Allen Bradley & Foxboro DCS and HIMA & TriconexSIS would be highly beneficial, as you ensure that site technical standards and procedures remain practical and cost effective, improve efficiency and quality, as well as ensure that the CI Clusters are following recognized and generally accepted good engineeringpractices.
