Instrument and Electrical Maintenance Engineer (1902622) – Geismar, LA
Where the Chemistry Happens
We are seeking a professional like you to be responsible for providing instrument and electrical engineering expertise to an assigned area of the site. In this role, you will assure proper design, installation and repair of instrument and electrical equipment according to regulatory and BASF standards. You will provide expertise to support maintenance, operations, and capital project activities. Additionally, you will ensure a culture of continuous improvement employing LEAN Manufacturing tools. The scope is instrumentation, some controls (DCS/PLC) and electrical, typically less than 600 volts.

Experienced technical professional providing advanced technical leadership in Instrument & Electrical systems.
Demonstrating knowledge and leveraging experience in providing technical guidance, you will provide technical support to the Maintenance Supervisor, specialists and craftsmen on difficult repair activities.
Independently identifies opportunities, establishes plans, and commits to deliverables for a new or changed process, system or technology. Determines whether and how to utilize internal or external technical resources.
Actively participates in forums to share and exchange knowledge.Influencing and persuading others across functions, sites or business groups is important to achieving job objectives.Forms productive networks with internal and external customers and the vendor community to resolve complex issues and gain technical insights.
Utilizing your broad based, hands on knowledge and experience with various types of instrumentation and control valves, you will initiate and/or modify predictive and preventive maintenance programs as necessary.
Using your proven organizational skills, you will be responsible for defining and ensuring strategic spare parts are managed and maintained.
Striving for innovation and thinking analytically, you will support project design, commissioning and startup activities.
Build, maintain and update existing lifecycle equipment strategies
Build analytical reliability models and work process for critical equipment
Provide technical assurance for electrical & instrument systems for audits, MOC and SIS qualification
Your effective communication and interpersonal skills will serve you well as you assist in recommending training and development options for in-house maintenance resources.
