Process Control, Automation & Electrical Manager, North America – Houston, TX (1803301)
Where the Chemistry Happens
We are seeking a leader like you to manage and direct the Automation, Process Control, Advanced Process Control, Process Analytics, and Electrical Technical Expertise group. As a leadership member of the North America Technical Expertise Organization, you will lead a highly skilled Technical team and drive the identification, development, implementation and sustainability of Automation and Process Control Technology for the region. You will also lead the BASF North America Technical Rules Committee (TRC) and North American Technical Network for Process Control, Automation, and Process Analytics, to maintain the technical procedures and standards for this discipline and to increase the networking of the regional discipline colleagues.
As a member of the Global leadership team, you will keep apprised of the latest developments in automation technology to assess and advise management of their potential benefit to BASF.
Formula for Success
Leveraging your Scientific or Engineering background and chemical plant experience (preferably in Refining or Petrochemicals), you will motivate and lead a large technical organization comprised of managers, direct reports, and indirect subject matter experts focused on the development of strategies, tools, new technology, and work processes to reduce costs and production losses.
Your knowledge of Process Control and Automation practices and the ability to seek, identify, or receive new or novel solutions will serve you well as you collaborate with site personnel and global colleagues to provide innovative solutions to complex issues.
We will rely on your expertise in capital projects development and execution, chemical plant Process Control Systems (PCS – DCS & PLC), Field Instrumentation & Control, Electrical Medium/High Voltage, MES applications, Industrial Communications, Process Analytics, theoretical know-how, and practical experience troubleshooting plant problems and optimizing plant performance to lead this team.
