We are looking for a professional to support daily operations and technical needs of the Aniline plant in our Chemical Monomers Group, applying engineering best practices and leading troubleshooting efforts. This role involves analyzing productivity, quality, and maintenance data to optimize plant equipment and improve reliability, while adhering to PSM regulations and BASF Process Safety rules. The position also requires involvement in daily operations, global initiatives, turnarounds, on-call rotation, and a major expansion project, with an overall focus on enhancing the Aniline plant and MDI value chain's output and efficiency.

As a Production Engineer (Geismar), You Create Chemistry By...

  • Driving for technical expertise in yourself and others and pursue sustainable solutions by supporting a safe and efficient operation.

  • Monitoring operations on a daily/weekly basis and analyzing and studying trends to determine patterns, research inefficiencies, and identify action plans to correct issues.

  • Providing technical support and troubleshooting expertise to the Daily Operational Team for plant problems that occur.

  • Offering technical and leadership support in root cause failure analysis for production, EHS, and Quality Incidents.

  • Participating in production planning and scheduling.

  • Adapting to changes in priority within the production environment, you will be part of the on-call rotation and respond to after-hour events that impact production or EHS.

  • Interfacing with the business team, suppliers, customers, and vendors as needed to maintain plant operation.

If you...

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience working in the Chemical, Petrochemical, and/or Refining manufacturing industry.

  • Prefer experience in continuous processes.

  • Skilled at troubleshooting and analyzing technical problems and developing/implementing solutions in a fast-paced environment.

  • Skilled in collaborating and communicating with frontline workers such as operators, shift supervisors, and maintenance personnel.

  • Proven experience evaluating the impact of process changes on EHS and operations.
