In this role as Production Engineer, you will lead the daily operation of theGBL & NMPplants as part of the Diols & Derivatives operations team. This role provides technical expertise in executing the required production plan, ensuring operational excellence, reliability, and process optimization. You will be instrumental in leading troubleshooting efforts when problems arise as a solution provider. This position requires strong leadership in safe plant operation and adherence to BASF Process Safety rules and policies.
As a Production Engineer II, You Create Chemistry By...
Leveraging your bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or Chemistry discipline (preferably Chemical or Mechanical Engineering) and your experience in a chemical/petrochemical or similar manufacturing environment, you will provide guidance and input to the achievement and development of plant goals, objectives, operational budgets, and ensure proper product quality.
Your strong understanding of chemical engineering principles and their application in a plant environment will aid you as you generate and complete MOCs and revalidate temporary MOCs to confirm their validity.
Your sound troubleshooting and analytical skills will serve you well as you provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise to the Daily Operational Team for plant problems that occur.
Your familiarity with process equipment operation including pumps, heat exchangers, and vessels will be essential as you offer technical and leadership support in root cause failure analysis for production, EHS, and Quality Incidents.
Demonstrating your excellent teamwork skills, you will participate in production planning, scheduling, EHS initiatives, housekeeping administration, continuous improvement projects.
Adapting to changes in priority within the production environment, you will be on-call and respond to any after-hour event that impacts production or EHS.
