BASF Production/Shipping Associate in Georgia

The Production/Shipping Associate is responsible for numerous administrative activities necessary for the smooth operation of the manufacturing plants. His/her duties are largely transactional/task oriented. Successful execution of the role enables other operations management staff to focus on the safe and efficient operation of the plants.
Individual must be highly capable of performing a wide array of administrative tasks requiring the efficient use of a personal computer and knowledge/capability with (or demonstrated ability to quickly learn) various software packages such as MS Office, SAP, Oracle, etc.

Site wide production, packaging, and shipping operations including hydrous and calcined products.
B. Specialized or Technical Knowledge and Skills
C. Related Job Experience
Experience in performing various administrative tasks in a fast paced manufacturing environment is a must. Experience in kaolin manufacturing desired.
High School education or GED plus experience listed below
Minimum 5-8 years manufacturing experience performing adminstrative actitives required
ust be a proactive self-starter capable of working with limited supervision.
Good communication skills with ability to engage employees directly on issues relevant to the position and achieve necessary outcome without management intervention.
Good problem solving skills with ability to quickly address and resolve problems.
Good computer skills required – Microsoft Office Suite, SAP, etc.
Knowledge of fundamental maintenance activities
Prior in-depth knowledge of Kaolin processing a plus.
Handling BOLs and other paperwork for all shipments (rail and trucks) including chemical deliveries
Conducting monthly packaging materials and chemical inventories
Ordering chemicals
Tracking on-site rail inventories
Producing weekly labor schedule including efficiently scheduling to minimize OT
Managing vacation schedules including arranging coverage for vacation
Managing (inputing) time and attendance information into system such as SAP
Tracking attendance and notifying management when certain flags are triggered
Performing various shipping or maintenance transactions in SAP or equivalent systems
Generating periodic reports as assigned by management
Entering purchase requisitions and receiving goods and services.
Tracking production metrics (e.g. plant waste haulage, production contractor utilization)
Periodically backfill certain tasks of other members of operations management as needed.
