Advanced Cleaning/Etching Scientist III (2201337) – Hillsboro, Oregon

We are seeking a professional like you to join us in our team and will be part of the Electronic Materials supporting the overall success of the Global Electronic Materials business unit. Reporting to the Lab Manager, you will be responsible for managing customer projects as well as planning and leading development projects in coordination with global R&D teams for the business area of advanced cleaning and etching.

Formula for Success

  • Leveraging your knowledge in chemistry or chemical engineering, you will take the lead on the product development activities for new business development opportunities with target customers and tool vendors.

  • Combining your knowledge and experience on colloidal and surface chemistry as well as chemical formulation you will drive innovation effort to develop chemical formulations for precise cleaning and etching to meet customer requirements.

  • Based on your Hands-on experience with semiconductor processing including cleaning, polishing, etching, photolithography and film deposition you will design and execute experiments to evaluate the performance of BASF commercial and R&D samples in customer applications.

  • Your excellent experience working with customers in product development and qualification you will serve as a customer contact for product sampling and qualification as well as coordinate activities between US customers and BASF global team of product managers, quality control and quality management.

  • Based on your experience working in a global team environment you will implement EH&S rule based on BASF guideline and accept personal responsibility to act according to process safety regulations and company directives.

  • In accordance with your ability to coordinate technical activities within a multimilitary team and meet deadlines you will work within multidisciplinary project teams which include EH&S, Engineering, Procurement and Logistics to provide contributions to the Hillsboro site operation.

  • Your familiarity with characterization tools such as FIB, SEM, TEM, elemental analysis, etc. will serve you well as you will participate in technical review meetings and other technical meetings with customers and strategic partners to explore new business opportunities.

  • Based on your good interpersonal skills and an ability to effectively communicate detailed and precise technical requirements, procedures, and results in written and oral format you will promote the quality systems by monitoring, reviewing ad implementing detailed and accurate documentation process for target product development and analytical activities and ensure the proper execution of SOPs.
