Continuous Improvement Manager-Houston Katy Freeway

Where the Chemistry Happens

We are seeking a professional like you to own the Continuous Improvement strategy and execution. You will collaborate internally across CPN North America and across BASF to ensure full alignment and execution of the program. Your community approach it will ensure your ability to build a CI culture, promoting common methodology, policies, practices, processes and language while delivering results. With your Lean Six Sigma (LSS) Black Belt and expertise in LSS tools and methods, you will oversee and drive the belt certification process and provide any coaching, training or support required.

Formula for Success

  • Leveraging your educational background in an Engineering discipline preferably Chemical Engineering and your Six Sigma Black Belt, you will coach, mentor, and train CPN employees in the use of continuous improvement and LSS tools, driving a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement.

  • Your experience in the chemical/specialty chemicals industry driving reliability and continuous improvement will allow you to manage and prioritize the continuous improvement roadmap for the business as well as drive the benefits of the belt certification program.

  • Your people leadership skills and project management experience will be an asset as you lead two direct reports as well as mentor and provide guidance for continuous improvement/technical resources at the sites and businesses.

  • As a strong communicator and influencer of key strategic initiatives you will manage, mentor and coach others in both technical, commercial and production environments on continuous improvement working effectively with all levels of management across an entire corporation to establish buy-in.

  • Your demonstrated track record of leading, implementing and managing operational excellence initiatives and business improvement processes will ensure the development and deployment of a sustainable CI program building in change management principles, accountability, and delivering results.

  • Your strong ability to communicate with business leaders to understand requirements, expectations and value measures will allow you to serve as the primary contact between CPN and NC/S in North America and ZOT globally for OPEX and continuous improvement efforts as well as provide a clear understanding of what the CPN organization can deliver and how that can be measured most effectively.

  • As you identify and resource top continuous improvement projects, you will serve as the internal leader and “go to” expert for CI, monitoring emerging trends, programs and issues, and communication and educating others on CI topics.
