Where the Chemistry Happens
We are seeking a professional like you to to support the supply security of technical equipment at all North American BASF facilities and the development and implementation of category strategies. You will provide regional input related to supply and demand market dynamics for the development of the category strategy. You will also routinely engage with the associated business units and suppliers in an effort to align supplier capabilities with BASF strategic priorities and explore creative and strategic supply solutions for technical equipment.
This is an excellent opportunity for you to demonstrate your entrepreneurial drive, commercial approach with a strategic mindset, ability to collaborate for achievement and your strong communication skills in English (Spanish is a plus).
Formula for Success
Leveraging your educational and professional background in Procurement, Engineering, Marketing, Sales or a related field, you will support the development of supply strategies for one global equipment category for the North American region.
Using your strong negotiation skills, you will steer negotiations with suppliers and be accountable for awarding and implementing contracts.
Your experience working in cross-functional teams will be key as you work closely with the business unit and the Procurement network to develop and implement sourcing strategies for products related to this portfolio.
As a subject matter expert, you will lead and manage the sourcing process (RFI, RFQ, RFP, etc.) for key strategic contracts and highly complex negotiations to ensure the most competitive supply advantage for BASF.
Using your prior experience in Procurement or Sales, you will implement and monitor the category’s purchasing strategy (analysis and bundling of regional & global needs) and the preparation and execution of inquiries.
As a subject matter expert, you will handle technical investment projects and evaluate incoming offers and challenge bonus/malus evaluation of requisitioners.In addition, you will develop the suppliers and the supplier base.
Successfully engaging outside the organization, you will establish and maintain professional relationships with current and potential key suppliers. This will include monitoring performance metrics, resolving claims and/or disputes, market intelligence, and other contributing factors affecting supply availability and pricing of products procured.
Your strong business acumen will be a valued asset as you conduct market intelligence research by interacting with key suppliers, industry associations, and internal stakeholders to collect industry-relevant information to assess current and future impact to BASF. In addition, you will support purchase order creation and processing as needed.
