In this role you will lead the North American regional account team responsible for the commercial and business development activities of all Downstream and Distributor sales.The Head of Sales partners closely with Product Management, Supply Chain, Business Development, Customer Care, Quality, Corporate Distribution, Controlling, and Technical Support to continuously improve the customer experience, while also responsible for leading the sales team to ensure volume, revenue, and margin growth. They are also an advocate for driving safety and sustainability efforts with our customer base across the region. This position reports to the Vice President of Plastic Additives, Americas.

As a Head of Sales, Downstream North America, you create chemistry by...

  • Leading and developing a team of five global key account management and distributor professionals across the US and Mexico to drive commercial and technical excellence for the region.

  • Developing regional and customer strategies and implementation plans to facilitate sustainable growth in the downstream sector of the plastic additives market, including automotive, building and construction, agriculture, and consumer goods.

  • Managing customer interfaces and executive level relationships for regional and global downstream customer accounts, i.e. masterbatchers, converters, compounders, in addition to sales and profitability development, customer relationships, and cost to serve.

  • Utilizing key tools including but not limited to Salesforce, SAP, APO forecasting, and NPS to assist with internal and external decision making.

  • Leveraging your strong internal and external relationships across other regions (including AP, EMEA) ensuring a cohesive strategy for managing global key accounts in a matrixed organization.

  • Offering essential budget planning, controls, policies, and programs under direction of senior management to achieve approved sales and profitability targets.

  • Establishing and developing executive level relationships with key customers.

  • Directing the development and maintenance of long-term operational and financial forecasts.

  • Communicating the regional sales requirements and works closely with the Plastic Additives Supply Chain Leader during the S&OP process to support regional supply planning.

  • Monitoring market conditions, competitive activities, general economic conditions, and governmental, legislative, and regulatory matters to support key business decisions and to determine key technical and business needs. Responsible for ensuring a strong pricing strategy in alignment with market conditions, working in partnership with Product Management to execute this pricing strategy.
