Regional Sales Manager (2000449) – Houston, TX

Where the Chemistry Happens

Our mission in Classical Oilfield is to be an industry platform focused on strategic products, creating value from Verbund synergy. We drive growth by rapid development of fit-for-purpose products. We are pursuing a €100M sales upside potential with Friction Reducer based on Modular PAM approach.

We will do this by keeping the customer at the center of everything we do. We will have an organizational design which empowers our people. Our portfolio will be focused, and we will leverage digital platforms to drive efficiencies and create value. We will support our supplying units by improving our understanding of their operations and what drives value for them. Additionally, we will drive sustainability by working safely and implementing solutions like Modular PAM that reduce the chemical footprint in Oilfield. We will also focus our innovation efforts and deliver relevant new products to our customer base.

We are seeking a professional like you to achieve regional net sales, CM1, market profit as well as operational performance. You will also assist in developing a project plan and execute implementation of Price and Margin Management Light and a new Customer Relationship Management System, as well as lead the EVG efforts for the customer teams.

Formula for Success

  • Your strong organizational skills will be a valued asset as you organize customer campaigns for new product launches.

  • Leveraging your education and related experience, you will drive the sales force to achieve or exceed target pricing and placement objectives and to implement price change policies proposed by Business Line Management. You will also develop sales volume and profitability targets per customer on the basis of the regional operating plan provided by the Product Managers in each business line.

  • Relying on your strategic thinking and negotiation experience, you will develop negotiation strategies for contracts and supply agreements with customers and oversee negotiations of Account Managers to ensure targets are on track and in line with the Business Line Manager. Additionally, you will utilize this experience as you approve the final version of sales contracts before they are signed up to the authorized amount.

  • Working as an effective leader, you will take responsibility for sales and business development in the region by leading a regional sales team including target setting, prioritization, regular team coaching and development.

  • Your effective communication skills will serve you well as you assist in building contacts between key BASF stakeholders and customer stakeholders to drive value creating discussions.

  • Demonstrating your strong analytical skills, you will provide forecasts of future customer demand and sales performance as required by Business Line Management, Supply Chain, and Controlling.

  • Your strong computer skills will be useful as you implement and use the BASF customer Interaction Portal including PMM light, CRM, and BRM.

  • Your keen attention to detail will be critical as you maintain a database of offers made to customers and perform monthly checks to ensure that agreed pricing is properly invoiced.
