Senior HR Business Partner, Port Arthur or Houston (Hybrid)

Where the Chemistry Happens

The Manufacturing Business Partner will deploy multiple Talent Solutions and Human Capital Initiatives enabling leaders to fully engage their people, which in turn translates into business results.

As a HR Business Partner, your primary responsibility will be to provide strategic HR support and guidance to our Port Arthur Manufacturing facilities leadership team. You will be required to work at the Port Arthur facility at least two days a week. You will develop and integrate short and long term strategic human resources initiatives to support the business needs. You will be responsible providing day to day HR and employee relations support to the site. Beyond the support of the Port Arthur site, you will be a member of the North American Petrochemical Human Resources Group and will provide HR support for division-wide day-to-day issues and larger initiatives and projects.

Formula for Success

  • Leveraging your experience in the business of HR, you will act as a liaison between division and HR service platform to ensure that HR services are aligned with the needs of the business.

  • You will provide day to day employee relations support, including conducting investigations, facilitating recruiting along with your Talent Acquisition partner, conduction performance review calibrations. You will also be responsible for monitoring headcount to ensure it aligns with the budget.

  • Utilizing your demonstrated ability to influence for impact, and your business acumen you will partner with leaders to ensure a strong leadership, empowerment, and inclusive culture.

  • Combining your excellent Negotiation and Consulting skills, you will review and benchmark the internal and external environment to improve HR processes and initiatives, where needed, as well as plan and administer important functions, such as performance management, compensation planning, talent management, learning and development, and personnel planning.

  • Your ability to navigate a highly matrixed company will serve you well, as you will identify opportunities to shape Employee Relations, Labor Relations, Engagement and Culture strategies at a site level in partnership with Corporate NA Employee Relations and Legal areas.

  • Displaying your exceptional oral, written and communication skills, and your ability to navigate complex and often ambiguous situations, providing leadership for colleagues and clients, you will coach unit leaders and their leadership team members to connect business strategy to people strategy, build capability, and for higher performance. You will also reinforce leader accountability in the areas of Talent, Leadership, Organization and Culture.

  • Applying your unique change management approach and practices, you will develop a regional talent strategy for the unit, know talent within the organization and of your competitors, including where to find it. You will also take full ownership of retention of critical talent in the unit and coordinate topics regarding headcount.

  • Your advanced analytical skills and mindset and your project management skills will be key, as you develop and execute human strategy initiatives covering Workforce Development, Diversity & Inclusion, Organizational Assessment and Culture.
