We are looking for a professional like you to support manufacturing operations for the Light Duty (LD) Production organization. LD Production consists of two primary process groups: slurry preparation and substrate coating. The Manufacturing Engineer II supports daily operations to ensure safe, timely, cost effective, and high-quality production output. You will work with the Operations Group to optimize daily production and implement sustainable improvement projects throughout production.

Formula for Success

  • Leveraging your education in an Engineering discipline and professional experience in process or manufacturing engineering, you will support day-to-day troubleshooting of mechanical and process-related issues and work with LD engineering technicians, vendors and outside engineering groups to develop equipment improvements.

  • Successfully engaging inside the organization, you will serve as maintenance liaison for supporting and leading equipment reliability initiatives as well as the reconciliation of day-to-day mechanical equipment issues. You will also support capital projects by serving as the primary Manufacturing Representative for LD Production. This will involve developing project scope documents, justifications, preliminary designs, and other activities outlined in the BASF capital project implementation process.

  • Your proven organizational skills will be useful as you implement manufacturing safety, quality, and efficiency improvement projects (this will include completing root cause analyses FMEA, DMAIC strategy for problem solving, design work, installations, coordination with maintenance/contract groups, utilization of BASF systems, management of change, etc.)

  • Displaying your commitment to LEAN methodologies, you will lead continuous improvement activities by fostering innovation and facilitating change that drives improvement.

  • Driving strategic decisions for the business, you will design and implement improvement projects surrounding production needs.

  • As a role model, you will develop proficiency in the functionality and operation of LD Production equipment and process systems.

  • Your pledge to safety will be a valued asset as you will be actively involved in site safety culture and processes to improve Operations awareness, including supporting Zero Incident Mindset (ZIM), Zero Loss of Containment (ZLOC), and Responsible Care Management Systems (RCMS).

  • Your demonstrated proficiency in SQL databases and Microsoft applications will be essential as you track and organize data and develop new spreadsheets, databases, and applications.
