Operations Manager (1802525) - Huntsville, AL
Where the Chemistry Happens
We are seeking an Operations Manager for our Huntsville, AL location. The Operations Manager will ensure the safe, efficient and effective operation of the Heavy Duty (HD) and CCN Plants at the Huntsville Site. The position is responsible for all aspects of catalyst production for the medium/heavy duty/off-highway diesel and locomotive markets; utility engines, hydrocarbon trap catalysts, ozone catalysts and converters and stationary source catalysts. This requires overall coordination of production, maintenance, technologies, capital investment, health and safety, ecology, quality assurance, coaching and development. The Operations Manager is responsible for leading the Heavy Duty and CCN Plants in their mission to meet or exceed all of our customer's expectations while meeting process metrics. The Operations Manager will report directly to the Huntsville Site Director and will have approximately 4 direct reports and an organization consisting of 75-100 people (exempt, non-exempt, and temporary staff) and will serve as a member of the Site Leadership Team.
Formula for Success
Through your demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams in a manufacturing environment, you will drive manufacturing performance of coating and slurry production to meet schedules that allow for superior customer satisfaction and high plant efficiency.
Leveraging your previous experience with Operational Excellence programs and Continuous Improvement, you will lead continuous improvement, corrective action and problem-solving activities. You will create teams to focus on reducing areas of waste and maximizing productivity.
Using your strong planning, organization skills, and ability to implement best practices, you will establish process metrics and develop a system to achieve and maintain performance at targeted level.
Leveraging your previous leadership in a manufacturing environment, you will staff, manage, coach, motivate, train and assess the performance of HD plant employees (exempt and nonexempt).
Utilizing your financial management skills, capital project experience and fixed cost control knowledge, you will support the business and technical aspects of capital project improvements.
Using your strong communication skills, you will foster teamwork with subordinates, peers and superiors both internal and external to Huntsville.
Your passion for safety will drive the team’s compliance with policies, regulations and our values for safety, quality, environmental and financial stewardship. You will be a champion for the Zero Incident Mindset and will manage to compliance of process Quality Systems to include: TS16949, AS9100, RC14001, ISO 90001 and Federal Aviation Administration regulations.
