Senior Manager,Global Communications - Catalyst - Iselin, NJ (1805820)
The Senior Manager, Global Communications develops and leads the global communications strategy and activities for BASF’s Catalysts (CC) division through development, coordination and consistency of messages for worldwide, strategic communications programs for both internal and external audiences.
The Senior Manager leads the global function and a team of 12 in the development and execution of effective divisional communications strategies and tactics to: provide direction to all units in the division on public affairs matters (including crisis management communications), advertising, marketing communications, media contacts, community relations, digital strategies and government relations ensuring a high level of recognition and acceptance of the division and its goals in governments, the business community and in professional circles; develop and approve all internal communications ensuring alignment with Catalysts vision and consistency with BASF values and key messaging and review and control of all division communications expenditures, creating recommendations on the level and goals of funding improving the efficiency and quality of communication.
Leveraging your strong people leadership of a large global team in a highly customer focused matrixed organization, you will deliver significant impact on the following:
Marketing Communications – Pertaining to product, segment and customer strategies, you will plan valuable global and regional marketing communications activities for CC, leading the implementation of dynamic marketing communications programs and activities including product launches, technical center and plant openings, customer events and promotions, trade fairs and exhibitions, industry forums and conferences, product advertising and internet marketing
Issues Management –You will proactively drive the identification of current and emerging issues (industry-related, social, economic, cultural, etc.) that are likely to affect the organization and its perception among key constituents; collaboratively partner with the global and regional communications network, building strategic communications plans to proactively manage issues which protect and enhance the company's reputation and brand. Collaborating with BASF corporate teams, you will strategically plan, manage and execute site relations and crisis management activities and build crisis management capabilities at Catalysts Divisions worldwide locations
Internal Communications & Digital strategies – Lead the establishment and execution of progressive internal and digital communication tools and tactics across all global and regional business units, operating regions and for the division overall such as online publications, bulletins, webcasts, intranet, digital signage. You will successfully initiate employee meetings enabling sustainable open communications between management and employees and bolster global/regional/joint venture communication teams resulting in the development of impactful and strategic employee communications materials and messaging
PR and Media Relations – Execute public and media relations strategies in close cooperation with divisional, BASF corporate and regional business teams, ensuring coordination and alignment in all communications-related activities, including trade media. Advance strong working contacts with journalists. Work closely with marketing, business and other teams to identify PR topics, efficacious press releases and ensure positive coverage in trade and/or general media. Coordinate and develop briefing documents for media interviews, top management speeches, etc. Synchronize with BASF corporate and regional teams, guaranteeing effective crisis communication processes are in place
Branding – Lead compelling brand strategy and compliance for the division globally
Talent Management –Coach, drive and develop high performing team members enabling and challenge each to reach their full potential; encourage development assignments and movement of talent across units; create an inclusive environment which embraces and derives value from diversity; execute performance and career development discussions; establish and support a safety culture
