Where the Chemistry Happens:
Supervise and coordinate activities of employees engaged in all phases of a plant operation. This position reports to the Plant Manager and is responsible for preparing operation schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality meet specifications. This position is required to guide and meet company certifications. Manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Extensive knowledge of department processes.
Formula for Success:
Develop, implement and enforce SHE / Responsible Care goals and objectives of facility
Manage staff which will include annual development of goals, performance reviews, and corrective/disciplinary actions. Coaching is a critical component of this role; ensure all managerial actions are aligned with corporate policy and procedures
Daily assessment and assignment of Production staff to meet workload requirements, thus ensuring daily productivity and shipping goals/objectives are met
Complete KPI (Key Performance Indicators) and department effectiveness assessment reports, as requested by Plant Manager
Direct participation in performing day-to-day duties of department’s team
Ability to work daily or weekend overtime
Develop, implement, and monitor training goals for Production & Staff employees
Other duties as assigned by management
Ingredients for Success:
Bachelor of Science related to the chemical industry
4+ plus experience in the chemical manufacturing, chemical engineering discipline.
Previous experience in a Plant Manager role in a manufacturing environment
Supervisory experience with coaching, training and developing employee goals
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to assist other sectors of the organization. Ability to multi-task in a busy environment
Cooperate in high-level decision making with the management team in the organization.
Excellent computer experience including outlook and Microsoft office
