Manager Seed Processing and Logistics (2202172) – Lethbridge, Alberta

Where the Chemistry Happens…

Reporting to the Head, NA Seed Supply, this position will support seed supply operations by ensuring timely and effective processing and logistics of InVigor Certified seed for the Canadian and US markets. This will be accomplished through the development of strong planning activities, an extensive network of seed processing facilities (internal and external), leadership of a team of seed processing, planning and logistics professionals. With strict focus on BASF’s quality management process and with compliance to all regulatory rules and regulations for Canada and the US, the goal is to produce and deliver sufficient quantities of the highest quality of InVigor seed for the Canadian and US markets.

Formula for Success: You Will…

  • Provide leadership to seed progressing and logistics professionals who plan and execute seed processing and logistics activities.

  • Ensure the establishment and ongoing management of seed processing and logistics resources.

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure that business and seed processing/logistics KPIs are achieved.

  • Ensure that all finished product meets strict quality control standards by adhering tightly to our Quality Assurance/Quality Management.

  • Responsible for processing and logistics of continuous improvement program with the goal of ensuring a superior customer experience

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…

  • B.SC in agricultural related sciences or business management or logistics.

  • 5 -7 years of experience in a leadership and management of seed processing and/or logistics teams.

  • Demonstrated leadership ability and excellent managerial skills in required to handle a wide range of activities with tight deadlines.

  • Strong knowledge of seed processing, include the various processes and systems associated with planning and scheduling and execution of this work, also extensive experience with seed logistics, including the various processes and systems associated with shipping & warehousing.

  • Extensive knowledge of the NA seed industry, with particular experience with the canola seed industry, with further understanding of how contra season locations support NA domestic requirements.

  • Familiarity with quality control systems that work to insure only the highest quality product reaches our customers.

  • Highly effective in both written and verbal communication.
