We are seeking a professional like you to be our Technology Manager in producing chelates that go into a number of critical and wide-ranging applications like hand sanitizers, cosmetics, descaling, food fortification, industrial cleaners, and agricultural feed at Fort Amanda Specialties LLC, a joint venture between BASF and Nouryon (formerly Akzo Nobel).
This is an excellent opportunity for you to hone your experience in managing technology, processes, and equipment while leveraging best practices and organizational knowledge from two of the biggest companies within the Chelates market and gaining leadership experience at the same time. The role has significant upward mobility potential so strong leadership skills are highly desirable. You will also get to share your ability and motivation to rapidly learn new topics, as well as your familiarity with OSHA, PSM & EPA requirements.
Formula for Success
Your strong commitment to Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) will be essential as you ensure all activities within the organization are aligned with and supportive of the site’s journey to EHS excellence.
Leveraging your educational and professional background in an Engineering discipline, you will work site leadership to formulate and execute the operational excellence, new product launch, maintenance, and capital strategies. You will lead site personnel in improving asset effectiveness, complete incident investigations and troubleshoot issues including control system failures (DCS, SIS, and PLC).
Your demonstrated experience in managing capital projects will be a valued asset as you will ensure projects meet functionality, cost, and scheduling expectations.
Engaging across the business, you will maintain alignment between the site, your organization, and the business unit with respect to goals, objectives, strategies, and initiatives.
Relying upon your leadership experience, you will effectively develop your direct reports, and influence contractors, and personnel within other functions including Maintenance, Engineering, and Supply Chain
Developing your knowledge and key contacts within the technical communities of both parent companies, you will leverage pertinent technology and process modifications to enhance the site’s processes, keep Process Safety Information and our safety concept evergreen, be part ofPHA/PSSR/MOC reviews and revalidations to meet process safety and environmental requirements, and enhance systems like Alarm Management to mitigate risks
Through your knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies and entrepreneurial spirit, you will lead continuous technology innovation through identification, evaluation, development, prioritization, and implementation of plant improvement ideas resulting in EBIT improvement through increased production or reduced cost (fixed and variable).
