What you can expect
We are looking for a candidate to join our Early Fungicide Biology team in the Global Research Fungicides unit as soon as possible. You will work to establish and develop protein expression and purification procedures to support enzyme assays and structure-aided design of new antifungals.
You will design and optimize protein production and carry out protein expression in E. coli, yeast or cell-free systems.
In addition, you will also design and optimize purification strategies of recombinant proteins to support enzymatic assays and crystallography.
You will evaluate and establish new expression systems and purification procedures.
Furthermore, you have a strong interest in characterizing protein-small molecule binding using modern biophysical techniques such as microscale thermophoresis (MST).
What we expect
You have successfully completed your PhD in structural biology or in a related field and you have extensive experience in the fields of constructing plasmids to express proteins in bacteria and yeast.
You have a deep knowledge in methods utilized for protein purification and equipment typically used for separation and purification of proteins.
Ideally, you have experience in working with membrane proteins and in characterizing protein-small molecule binding using modern biophysical techniques such as microscale thermophoresis (MST).
You are distinguished in particular by your excellent communication and teamwork skills and you are also capable of working efficiently in multicultural teams.
