What you can expect
Within our unit Environmental Fate, you will join a highly dedicated, international and passionate team.
You will lead a cutting edge environmental chemistry lab with 2-4 lab technicians.
It will be your responsibility to develop new and efficient screening tools as well as smart new study designs using radiolabeled 14C material or cold MS based analytical methods.
You will apply high-throughput screening methods to profile the environmental behavior of early development compounds in soil, water and air.
You will use state-of-the-art IT prediction tools to investigate the degradation pathway of new compounds.
Together with your project team you will be responsible for the timely preparation of dossiers, risk assessments and authority requests.
You will develop, communicate and implement regulatory science strategies and defend these strategies towards internal project partners and external stakeholders.
Your responsibility as a lab leader includes personnel responsibilities, objective setting, career planning and skill development.
What we expect
You have successfully completed your PhD in chemistry or in any related natural science discipline (e.g. pharma, biology).
You have a strong background in analytical chemistry or environmental fate.
Due to your previous work experience, you have expertise in scientific working and giving presentations.
You are well acquainted with the standard IT applications and are versed in using your excellent English language skills to communicate in global teams.
On a personal level, you possess an innovative and solution-oriented working style and you are able to motivate yourself and your team.
Ideally, you possess good knowledge of the BASF compliance program and product stewardship.
