As a member of the North America Supply Chain team, you will support the overall success of the Colorants business in North America. Your role as the Supply Chain Planner is to manage an assigned product portfolio in support of customer delivery service goals, inventory targets and optimize service costs.

Formula for Success:

  • Leveraging your educational and professional background in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Operations, or a related field, you will manage raw materials sourcing, planning and inventory management as a member of the supply chain planning team in Louisville, KY.

  • Engaging across the business, you will perform business-critical tasks including development of supply strategies with BASF 3 rd parties, addressing supply and demand imbalances, and minimization of dysfunctional inventory

  • Using your experience in operations, supply chain processes, and ERP (preferably SAP), you will execute Material Requirements Planning (MRP), to determine net production requirements, finite planning, establishing inventory targets, and safety stock levels to support excellent customer on-time deliveries.

  • Effectively coordinating with other stakeholders, you will work with Procurement, Business Management, Product Management, site operations and logistics to coordinate supply and inventory levels for raw materials, develop and execute inventory strategy to support sales and cost targets.

  • Your problem-solving and analytical skills will be essential as you represent the site during Supply & Operational Planning reviews, coordinate network supply balancing across our Dispersions sites, and manage supply constraints together with the Customer Support and Product Management teams.

  • Lead digitalization enhancements in material planning utilizing best in class SAP planning, Supply Network Planning (SNP) for mid to long range material planning

  • Work with our procurement team and key suppliers to improve and stabilize our material supply for the colorants business, troubleshooting and resolving supply risks to maintain consistent material flow.

  • Support new product transitions and develop inventory strategy for all discontinuing and new products.

  • Work closely with product management for creation of new articles for raw materials

  • Your strong interpersonal and communication skills will be essential to build strong relationships and process improvements with the operations, quality, engineering, and logistics teams at the Louisville site to drive asset effectiveness, coordinate downtime planning, and optimize costs and material flows.

  • Relying on your passion for continuous improvement, you will identify and execute operational excellence projects with a Lean Six Sigma methodology ensuring long-term success for the Louisville supply chain processes

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic atmosphere, purchasing in a complex raw material environment
