The Global Engineering Services Division is responsible for the implementation of BASF's plant construction projects. We advise and support the various corporate divisions by providing expert services throughout the plant's life cycle, such as automation, process or mechanical engineering. We push forward innovations in all areas of the chemical industry - and turn laboratory developments into worldwide production plants.

What you can expect

Our Construction Planning unit offers planning services for new plants and changes in plants within the BASF Group, for example production buildings, office/control room buildings and infrastructure facilities.

  • In this role, you will plan the construction part of our production facilities as well as social and auxiliary buildings worldwide.

  • You will keep deadlines, costs and tendering processes in mind at all times and will be responsible for execution plans.

  • You will turn over responsibility for planning from service phase 3 onward to local external engineering firms or multinational contractors.

  • Moreover, you will monitor and evaluate all German Fee Scales for Architects and Engineers (HOAI) planning phases for property and load-bearing structure planning.

  • In the case of technical questions relating to construction and for finding solutions, you will be the right point of contact for our internal customers. Furthermore, you will work on an interdisciplinary basis within a team to develop the best solution.

What we expect

  • Extensive knowledge and several years of practical experience in the construction area, ideally with a focus on industrial construction

  • Professional experience and expertise in project management or construction management

  • Good understanding of structural engineering and solid subject-specific knowledge of construction in order to develop construction concepts

  • Degree in architecture

  • Open and empathic communication in German and English to handle international teamwork

  • Willingness to compromise and good as well as quick grasp of new information in order to think into non-construction-specific issues that affect the fields involved in the planning process
