What you can expect
As a Data Scientist in the CoP AI you will be supporting the product Production AI - Hybrid Solutions & Plant Analytics Platform in building and deploying hybrid solutions that help to improve our production from asset over plant to the site scale.
You will cover the entire data-science model lifecycle from data analysis, model development and training, as well as deployment to the cloud.
You will support digitalization projects from ideation, over first prototypes until commissioning. Beyond that you will provide service & support during runtime.
In addition, you will actively identify needs of our production colleagues and translate them into software specifications and manage the development. In this context you will work closely with our software engineers and architects.
You will develop new algorithms, models and concepts applying state-of-the-art data science concepts and work with the latest software frameworks and technologies.
Furthermore, you will drive the implementation of new applications and take care of the migration of existing ones.
What we expect
Background in computational sciences or engineering, mathematics, statistics, and physics, preferably with a PhD
More than 2 years of (non-academic) work experience in scientific modeling and/or data science in the chemical industry or similar industries
Fluency in a scripting or computing language (e.g. Python, Scala, Java, etc.)
Proven Python (or similar) skills in transformation, optimization, analysis, and modeling of real-world data sets using relevant libraries (e.g. Pandas, scikit-learn)
Ideally hands-on experience in software development, preferably for cloud-based applications (Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment) in an agile setup (e.g. Kanban, Scrum)
Ability to influence various stakeholders to align roadmap, priorities, and drive change
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including data visualization and storytelling, especially in quantitative topics discussed with non-technical colleagues.
