The Engineering & Technical Expertise Division is responsible for the implementation of BASF´s plant construction projects. We advise and support the various corporate divisions by providing expert services throughout the plant's life cycle, such as automation, process or mechanical engineering. We push forward innovations in all areas of the chemical industry - and turn laboratory developments into worldwide production plants.

What you can expect

Our Engineering & Maintenance IT unit manages and supports the use of engineering software in major investment projects in plant engineering at the BASF Group.

  • You will coordinate IT subjects in engineering projects. You will act as the central point of contact for the engineering team in the process and will represent requirements toward internal and external service providers.

  • Your responsibilities will include the IT setup for communications, document management and CAE systems, with a particular focus on information protection.

  • You will define solutions that enable efficient handling of projects by all concerned and integration of the relevant information into the BASF lifecycle.

  • In the medium term you will improve IT processes in the engineering project environment.

What we expect

  • You have a degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics or physics; a PhD is also welcome.

  • Ideally you have already proven your practical IT skills and knowledge of IT security in an industrial setting.

  • You have knowledge and skills relating to computer-aided engineering (CAE) systems.

  • Due to your negotiation skills you are persuasive in presentations and discussions.

  • You are determined and contribute actively within the team in order to achieve goals together. In the process, you set the direction so that your team can achieve the best possible performance.
