The Global Engineering Services division is responsible for the worldwide implementation of BASF's plant construction projects. We advise and support the divisions with expert services such as automation, process and mechanical engineering throughout the entire life cycle of the plants. In this way, we drive innovation in all areas of the chemical industry - we turn laboratory developments into world-scale production plants.
What you can expect
Our Engineering & Maintenance IT unit manages and supports the use of engineering software in major investment projects in plant engineering at the BASF Group.
You will coordinate IT subjects in engineering projects. You will act as the central point of contact for the engineering team in the process and will represent requirements toward internal and external service providers.
Your responsibilities will include the IT setup for communications, document management and CAE systems, with a particular focus on information protection.
You will define solutions that enable efficient handling of projects by all concerned and integration of the relevant information into the BASF lifecycle.
In the medium term you will improve IT processes in the engineering project environment.
What we expect
Successfully completed studies in engineering technology, computer science, mathematics or physics, also with a doctorate.
Practical IT knowledge and knowledge of IT security and information protection in an industrial environment.
Ideally, knowledge of Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) systems in plant engineering.
Determination, team leadership, team activity and negotiation skills in order to achieve common goals and achieve the best possible performance.
