The Process Research and Chemical Engineering Division brings together a variety of competencies, including inorganic chemistry, organic synthesis, battery research, catalysis, process development and technology, as well as technical services for laboratories/technical centers. In interdisciplinary global teams, we develop innovative products, processes and technologies for a sustainable future and work with internal partners and customers.

What you can expect

We, at Inorganic Materials & Synthesis at BASF are the experts for the targeted development of new inorganic materials. These materials are used for a wide range of applications with a focus on electronics and renewable energies.

  • Specifically, you will develop new inorganic materials as building blocks for innovations.

  • You will research structure-property relationships for inorganic solids as well as nanomaterials and you will derive research strategies.

  • Moreover, you develop synthesis procedures for inorganic materials and scale them up to production scale.

  • By using modern methods you characterize solids and their microstructure as well as inorganic nanoparticles and develop them further.

  • You will develop recycling procedures for inorganic materials.

  • Additionally, you supervise international research collaborations and work intensively with partners from research, marketing and production.

What we expect
