The Engineering & Technical Expertise Division is responsible for the implementation of BASF's plant construction projects. We advise and support the various corporate divisions by providing expert services throughout the plant's life cycle, such as automation, process or mechanical engineering. We push forward innovations in all areas of the chemical industry - and turn laboratory developments into worldwide production plants.
What you can expect
The Conceptual Process Engineering group lays the process engineering groundwork for the planning of production equipment and facilities. It also supports ongoing operation of equipment and facilities, beyond commissioning thereof, and thus contributes to continuous improvement.
In the position of process engineer, you will be a part of the engineering team for our worldwide investment projects.
You will develop process engineering plant and equipment concepts on the basis of research work and operational experience and will optimize these concepts with an eye to the goals of the investment projects.
You will use advanced simulation tools to calculate complex processes and production workflows, with support from a capable team in the process.
You will contribute to the further development and evolution of the tools and workflows through your ideas and will use your creativity to optimize our production processes.
With your subject-specific expertise, you will assist all those involved in the projects, implement the project order within the team and monitor the execution of the services in compliance with contracts and to the required standard of quality.
What we expect
You have a degree in process engineering or chemical engineering.
Your solid knowledge and skills in thermodynamics, thermal and mechanical separation technology and reaction technology allow you to analyze even complex process engineering processes.
Ideally, you have experience in process simulation.
As part of the engineering team, you will work in accordance with functions, on time and on budget with our customers' interests and concerns in mind, including on global assignments.
Your analytical, well-organized working style helps you to address your customers' wishes and provide them with optimum advice.
You also communicate proficiently in both German and English, and your targeted, clear communication style allows you to convey even complex matters in an understandable way.
