What you can expect

"Materials for a better life" - this claim is shared by the research areas in our unctional Polymers Research department. However, the approaches we pursue are different. We develop biodegradable polymers for a wide range of applications. Interface-active additives, for example for the detergent and cleaning agent industry, are just as much a part of our portfolio as are excipients for the pharmaceutical and agrochemical industries as well as personal care, fuel and lubricant additives or bioactive polymers for the prevention of biofilms.

  • You will supervise research projects, including customer and academic collaborations.

  • In addition, you will support process transfers from the laboratory to production.

  • Furthermore, you will be responsible for process optimization of polymerizations and polymer analogous reactions in existing production plants.

  • You will undertake competitive analysis through review of public literature and third-party sample analysis as well as strategic patenting to protect existing business.

  • Scientific support of university collaborations is also in your area of responsibility.

What we expect

  • above-average university degree in polymer chemistry or a similar field with a successfully completed PhD

  • excellent knowledge of polymer chemistry, especially cationic polymerization

  • additional experience of radical polymerization technology as well as alkoxylation is advantageous

  • strong knowledge of polymer analytics and basic knowledge of polymer physics

  • ability to work in a team as well as first work experience in the industrial sector

  • very good communication skills in German and English as well as good knowledge of common IT applications
