What you can expect
We are looking for a candidate to join our Microbial Strain Engineering team as soon as possible to provide support in the development of fermentative production methods for chemicals and enzymes.
Within our interdisciplinary and international team, you will manage a research lab and assume responsibility for managing your coworkers from a subject-specific perspective.
Together with your coworkers you will work on the optimization of industrial microorganisms.
You will document and communicate your research findings in the form of reports and presentations and protect the fruits of your labors through corresponding patent applications.
You will optimize and organize the workflows within the lab and ensure compliance with the occupational health, safety and environmental rules and regulations.
You will observe and evaluate current science, technology and market trends as well as competitor activities.
You will also initiate projects and actively participate in building and expanding contacts with business units as well as scientific and research partners.
What we expect
You hold a PhD in biosciences and have extensive hands-on experience in molecular biology, preferably of fungi, a PostDoc or first industrial experience is a plus.
Your deep understanding of microbial metabolism and biochemistry is your basis for the development of novel fungal strains for the fermentative production of chemicals and enzymes.
You are a proficient user of the standard IT applications and communicate effectively in English.
