In the Advanced Materials & Systems Research Division, our multifaceted team works together to develop functional materials and systems for high-performance, innovative and sustainable solutions for our customers in various different industries. At the same time, we meet the legal and economic requirements.
What you can expect
In our Material Physics, Analytics & Formulation unit we are looking for you to strengthen our activities in the field of Characterization of Colloidal Systems.
As a research scientist, you will work in interdisciplinary teams to develop and optimize material solutions for various industries like home care, personal care or coatings with a special focus on the interactions in colloidal systems.
Your contribution is to support R&D activities by comprehensively characterizing materials and providing a fundamental understanding of the underlying structure-property-relationships which will help to identify optimum material compositions and designs.
Furthermore, you will use a set of commercial as well as customized high-end methods, and develop them toward the needs as well as requirements to work closely together with other characterization labs in our unit.
You will actively participate in the innovation process with project ideas of your own.
As a lab team manager, you will be responsible for managing your employees in subject-specific terms.
What we expect
PhD in physics, materials science or chemistry with above-average marks
Experienced in light scattering methods for the characterization of colloids, such as polymer particles and macromolecules, ideally also in complex systems such as formulations in consumer products
Good knowledge about physics (i.e. morphology and properties) and chemistry of polymeric materials
Skills in standard computer programs
Fluent English language skills
